GrC Advising Tips
Graduation Advice (Q&A):
Q: Do I need to apply to graduate?
A: Yes, you need to fill out a "graduation evaluation" and the forms are available on-line: http://www.ess.calpoly.edu/_records/forms/index.htm
Note: Requesting a graduation evaluation initiates your eligibility to participate in the Commencement Ceremonies. If you request a graduation date of Winter, Spring or Summer quarter, you will be eligible to participate in the Spring (June) Ceremony. If you request a graduation date of Fall quarter, you will be eligible to participate in the Fall (December) Ceremony.
Q: When do I request my graduation evaluation?
A: Four quarters prior to your expected degree completion term. The form must be turned into the Academic Records Office (Bldg. 01-Room 222) or drop in the Records' dropbox.
Q: How long does it take to receive my graduation evaluation?
A: Your evaluation will be mailed to you two quarters prior to your completion term.
Q: What if my graduation date changes?
A: Students will NOT be allowed to register for classes in any term beyond the term in which they have declared their degree requirements will be completed. If degree completion terms change, students must submit a *Change of Degree Completion Term* to the Records Office (this form is also available at the Academic Records Office forms area).
A New Web ASSIST User Interface is here.
ASSIST activated the improved Web ASSIST pages at http://www.assist.org. The same information is still available but the look and feel of the website has been updated and improved.
To access articulation information:
1. Click on the drop down menu in the center of the page under Explore Transfer Information, and select Cal Poly
2. Click on the drop down menu under Agreements with Other Campuses, and select the campus the student will be transferring from, and choose a department, or if available, a major. Note: All departments is at the bottom of the drop down department list.
3. Click on a link under College Courses Applicable for Transfer, at the bottom of the center screen, and you will find CSU GE lists and other information about the transfer institution.
The new site still supports bookmarking specific prompt and report pages (where the selections will be remembered), however given the new structure of the site, old bookmarks will no longer function correctly.
If you are running an OLD version of Netscape and you cannot access this site, please try viewing it with Internet Explorer.
