8x10 peerless platen jobber (circa 1890)

peerless platen jobber

The design of this press, which was manufactured by the Globe Manufacturing Co., is patterned after the Gordon clamshell press. The Peerless uses the simiple clamshell mechanism for its platen which has a short hinge, bed motion. The press was fed by hand and movement was achieved by the use of a foot treadle.
